This three-hour class is the perfect opportunity for adult students of all abilities to develop or refresh skills and become comfortable using color in their drawings. Students will be inspired by guided instruction in line, shape, value, composition, proportion, texture, and contrast while learning the basics of creating completed landscape and still life drawings. Students will use a variety of traditional art materials, which will foster learning in a variety of color media: oil and chalk pastels, crayons, and graphic markers. Adults who participated in our drawing classes last year will bring new insights and find new challenges in this year’s drawing programs. Exhibition Focus: George Sotter: Light and Shadow
Individualized attention, small classes, frequent gallery tours, and master teachers are hallmarks of the Michener Art Museum’s exceptional arts programs. The Michener’s permanent collections balanced with changing exhibitions provide ongoing opportunities for looking at and learning about a variety of art forms in new ways. Student work is exhibited in the Education Gallery throughout the year.
