Enrich your child’s kindergarten education with a morning or afternoon art class, featuring Museum lessons and art-making experiences that are certain to educate, excite, and inspire. Students will draw, paint, sculpt, print, work with mixed media, and explore the Michener’s exhibitions. Pre-reading, science, and literacy skills are integrated into this dynamic arts program. Our KindergARTen Art Class may be taken for one, two, or all three sessions; projects are not repeated during the year.
Individualized attention, small classes, frequent gallery tours, and master teachers are hallmarks of the Michener Art Museum’s exceptional arts programs. Through exposure to a variety of art forms and art materials, all courses encourage the development of new skills and build confidence in creative expression. The Michener’s permanent collections balanced with changing exhibitions provide ongoing opportunities for looking at and learning about a variety of art forms in new ways. Student work is exhibited in the Education Gallery throughout the year.
Preregistration preference for winter and spring art classes is given to students of the current fall session. Winter art class registration begins November 15th; spring art class registrations begins February 15th.
Winter 2018 sessions begin the week of January 14 and run through the week ending March 10.
Spring 2018 sessions begin the week of March 18 and run through the week ending May 19.
