Edgar N. Putman Event Pavilion and outdoor sculpture garden
Free with Museum admission
Join us for an evening of star gazing and observing with members of the BMAA who help us hone observation and astrophotography skills, and discuss the many different types of telescopes. If clear, we will have telescopes and astrophotography rigs set up in the outdoor sculpture garden for museum visitors to enjoy celestial views of the sky. Browse the exhibition The Color of the Moon and visit educational displays in the Edgar N. Putman Event Pavilion. Interact and ask questions with local amateur astronomers on what to observe and their techniques. See displays of telescopes and imaging equipment used for planets, deep space, the moon, and the sun. Should the weather not be suitable for outdoor viewing, all programming and displays will be available inside.
