Beginner students with no experience will be introduced to this wonderful medium through a project designed just for them before creating their own unique stained glass artwork. Students with stained glass experience design and create original two- and three-dimensional stained glass works of art in this dynamic Michener program. Learn to create original patterns for glass images. Cut, grind, polish, taper, incorporate glass nuggets, and learn three-dimensional glass construction. Students who have taken Stained Glass previously will engage in new learning experiences, and discover new challenges and approaches to glass in this class. Students must wear long pants and close-toed shoes.
The Michener Art Museum offers the only art classes in Bucks County where learners of all ages experience Museum exhibitions as an ongoing part of their arts education. Discussions and experiences in the galleries and sculpture garden inspire students to create original works of art in response to what they see. Individualized attention, small classes, and master teachers are hallmarks of exceptional programs that combine learning new skills with opportunities for creative expression and the development of a personal style. Students work in an environment rooted in inspired and supportive instruction, meaningful gallery experiences, personal observation, and imagination. Student work is exhibited in the Education Gallery throughout the year. All art classes at the Michener keep art at the heart of education.
