Enrich your child’s kindergarten education with a morning or afternoon art class, featuring Museum lessons and art-making experiences that are certain to educate, excite, and inspire. Students will draw, paint, sculpt, print, work with mixed media, and explore the Michener’s exhibitions. Pre-reading, science, and literacy skills are integrated into this dynamic arts program. Our KindergARTen Art Class may be taken for the fall, winter and spring seasons; projects are not repeated during the year. Student artwork is exhibited in the Art in Bloom Education Gallery exhibition in April.
Individualized attention, small classes, frequent gallery tours, and master teachers are hallmarks of the Michener Art Museum’s exceptional arts programs. Through exposure to a variety of art forms and art materials, all courses encourage the development of new skills and build confidence in creative expression. The Michener’s permanent collections balanced with changing exhibitions provide ongoing opportunities for looking at and learning about a variety of art forms in new ways. Student work is exhibited in the Education Gallery throughout the year. All art classes at the Michener keep art at the heart of education.
