From artists like the Pennsylvania Impressionists, to Broadway lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II, to author James A. Michener, Bucks County has long provided the backdrop for creative inspiration. Through story and song, distinguished cabaret singer and songwriter Karen Gross honors Bucks County as muse, with a focus on the music of the early 20th century when Pennsylvania Impressionism flourished. Among the melodies, Karen weaves in her own journey from Bucks County to Philadelphia to New York City, performing in venues including New Hope’s Cabaret at Odette’s, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Lincoln Center. Join Karen for this musical tale of following the muse and also finding it right at home.
Music at the Michener is presented by NJM Insurance Group.
Sunday Afternoon Music is generously supported by Worth & Company, Inc., and Barbara Donnelly Bentivoglio and Dr. Lamberto Bentivoglio.
