International Family Day: World Music Workshop

Pueblo drums, talking drums, singing bowls and rattles made from the toenails of goats! Come discover amazing and wonderful world music traditions in DARIA’s live interactive music performance at the Michener Museum. Visitors will get a chance to make their own version of an instrument from Ancient Egypt, and participate in a performance with Daria.
World Music children’s performer DARIA (Daria Marmaluk-Hajioannou) has spent almost three decades performing in the USA and around the world, creating community-building music. Along with numerous national awards for her culturally diverse music, Daria is the author of the MLK Day “I Have A Dream” song as well as the Earth Day Anthem used around the world: ”We’ve Got The Whole World In our Hands”. She’s also the author of several other new classics for kids including “Beautiful Rainbow World”, a World Oceans Day Song and a song about tolerance featuring the Muslim Greeting.
