Participants provide fabric and notions for this program. Students also provide their lunch.
Incorporate your interest in color and design while creating a unique outfit and accessories. Use fabric you design to create a sewn accessory. Students will also learn to read and alter sewing patterns and create unique fashion and accessory designs. Projects in this level 2 class will be more complex than projects in the level 1 class, offered in June; students are welcome to take both classes. Sewing skills are helpful but not necessary for this class. Students who took our fashion classes last summer are welcome to repeat this class for new experiences. Families and friends are welcome to come 30 minutes before the end of class on Friday to enjoy an exhibition of student work and a fashion show. Please bring three yards of non-directional, non-stretch cotton fabric and matching thread to the first class; bring a sewing machine to class, if you have one. If you are purchasing a sewing pattern, please also purchase what is called for in the pattern, including all notions. Call or email Andrea Thompson with any questions at email@example.com or 215.340.9800 x115
Students entering grades 6 through 12 in fall 2019 are invited to register for this class.
Students provide their own peanut free lunch for full day and snacks for half-day programs.
Individualized attention, inspired and supportive instruction, small classes, meaningful gallery tours, and award-winning teachers are hallmarks of our exceptional arts programs. Through exposure to a variety of art forms and materials, all courses encourage the development of new skills and build confidence in creative expression. In addition, our summer camps provide opportunities for lively social interaction and outdoor activities. Student work is exhibited in the Education Gallery throughout the summer.
