Instructor: Amy McMenamin
Students learn new drawing and painting skills, explore a variety of art materials, and visit Michener galleries weekly in our Explore Art series. Students will use pencil, charcoal, oil and chalk pastels, acrylic paint on canvas, watercolors, and an array of printmaking and collage materials in this program.
Faculty member Amy McMenamin earned a Bachelors degree in Art Education from Moore College of Art and Design and a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in painting from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Amy is a recipient of Cleveland’s Joseph Mccullough Award in painting. She is currently working towards a Masters in Educational Leadership. Amy has worked as a teacher at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Southampton since 2008. She has a wealth of experience having taught art classes for over twenty years. She has previously taught as a studio art teacher at several colleges as well as at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and at the Cleveland Museum of Art. She loves working with a variety of students with diverse backgrounds and abilities. She has taught art classes to students from as young as 3 years old to senior adults; and to students with special needs. When not in the classroom Amy enjoys creating her own landscape paintings. She works primarily in oils, but also enjoys acrylics and watercolors, as well as drawing.
