Instructor: Michener Faculty

Students learn new drawing and painting skills, explore a variety of art materials, and visit Michener galleries weekly in our Explore Art series. Individualized instruction and inspiring art lessons enhance observation and imagination, foster the development of new talents, provide opportunities for self-expression, build confidence, stimulate creativity, and encourage the evolution of a personal style. Students explore Michener galleries weekly, and use works in the exhibitions as take-off points for their own art making; they also work from photographs, observation, and imagination. Students will use pencil, charcoal, oil and chalk pastels, acrylic paint on canvas, and watercolors in this program. Student artwork is exhibited in the Art in Bloom Education Gallery exhibition in April. Projects do not repeat, and many students enjoy taking this class in the fall, winter, and spring for consecutive years.
