Join us for a number of diverse and exciting Family Arts Programs at the Michener!
Unplugged Sundays @ the Michener is a series of free family programs, featuring visual and performing artists who engage audiences through storytelling, music, puppetry, and more. The range of performers includes artists who specialize in multicultural themes, classic tales, and global perspectives, sparking connections and inspiring youth and family audiences. In 2017 and 2018, we are pleased to welcome naturalist and illustrator Kim Kurki, electric violinist Caryn Lin, Marvel comic inker Scott Hanna, Philadelphia storyteller Charlotte Blake Alston, our annual Prison Adventure, and much more!

Unplugged Sundays @ the Michener is sponsored by the Leff Family Foundation.
On the first Sunday of every month from October through March, parents and caregivers are invited to draw in the galleries and the art studio with their children using a variety of art materials. Using permanent collections and special exhibitions as inspiration, Family Drawing Days provide opportunities for creativity, self-expression, and the development of a personal style. Participants do not pay Museum admission the day of the program.

From the community outreach and international exchange of the The Hexagon Project: Global Interdependence interactive exhibition, through the explosion of color in our elementary and middle school Art in Bloom display, to the community outreach and service initiative of the Gift of Giving program, the Education Gallery at the Michener Art Museum remains a center for creativity, self-expression, artistic talent, and joy in our community. Formal exhibitions throughout the year balance with informal “push pin” displays of student work celebrate a promising future for the arts in Bucks County and beyond. All Education Gallery exhibitions and receptions are free and open to the public during regular Museum hours.
Programming in the Education Gallery is made possible by the lead sponsorship of Penn Community Bank. Additional sponsorship is provided by the Doris Weiss Education Gallery Endowment, the Leff Family Foundation, and FACT Bucks County, with in-kind support from Morrie Breyer & Michael Mamp.
Boy and Girl Scouts of all ages can earn a variety of visual arts and arts related badges at the Michener Art Museum. We schedule programs for Scouts every season. You may also call to schedule a private event, tailored to address your Scout troop’s specific needs.
