Museum Policy on Photography
Photography is permitted in the permanent collection galleries and other public spaces for personal, non-commercial use with the following restrictions:
Flash, video cameras and tripods are prohibited.
- Photographs cannot be published, reproduced, or sold without permission from the Museum.
- Any photography for publicity, commercial purposes or special projects that requires additional equipment/crew requires permission and must be coordinated in advance.
- Certain works in the galleries are on loan to the museum and their photography may be restricted. Visitors are asked to kindly take note of labels and exhibition signage in galleries that indicate when photography is not permitted. Please refrain from shooting works with the following symbol:
Visitors are asked not to climb on sculpture, hang from trees or architectural features. Climbing, sitting, or standing on structures or water features is strictly forbidden.

Requests to Reproduce Images
The museum provides images of works from the permanent collection and archive for publication, research, and non-printed media use (videos, CD-ROMS, website, etc.). high-quality digital images and slides duplicates are available, as well as the rental of color transparencies. Interested parties must complete a contract.
Both photography and image-use fees are charged. Costs are based on a fee schedule and prepayment is required for all orders. Discount prices are available for non-profit institutions. Fee schedule available upon request. Turnaround time is approximately two weeks from time of payment, with a non-guaranteed date of delivery. Images are shipped regular mail, FedEx (extra fee applies) or transferred electronically.
Providing images free of charge for research purposes will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Fees may apply if the image is not available in a digital or CT format. The applicant will be required to sign a contract for one-time use of the image.
If the museum does not hold copyright for the image requested, the applicant is responsible for obtaining permission from the copyright holder or family contact, and evidence of such permission, unless the image is in the public domain, must be presented to the museum before photographic materials will be released. The museum will provide the requestor with copyright information, if such information is available.
The museum reserves the right to refuse any requests and to impose certain conditions, as it may deem advisable in the best interest of the museum collections. The museum will not allow reproduction of certain images from the archival collections if source and/or photographers are unknown.
Requests to Film/Photograph in the Museum
All requests for permission to film or photograph for commercial purposes at the museum, in the galleries or outdoor sculpture garden, must be submitted in writing. Commercial photography is possible in the galleries, sculpture garden or other areas on the museum property with accompanying staff member. Exclusive use of the galleries, sculpture garden or other areas on the museum property is also available. A museum staff member and security guard will be present for the shoot.
