Student vocalists perform for young audiences

On the afternoon of Thursday, April 6, the Michener welcomed two talented young performers and an audience of 80 students from Olney Christian School, Community Partnership School, and the Bucks County Intermediate Unit Youth Residential Center for its first afternoon PNC Arts Alive Presents Broadway Cabaret at the Michener event.

Carlee Ingebido, a freshman at Ridley High School in Ridley Park, PA, and Brittney Sedgwick, a senior at the Philadelphia High School for Creative & Performing Arts, took the stage independently as well as together to share their beautiful voices. Both are students of Sharon Neff at Settlement Music School; Carlee studies musical theater, and Brittney studies opera. After the 45-minute performance, the girls led a question-and-answer session with students from the audience.

Many Michener staff members were among the audience as well. Who can resist the timeless lure of wonderful music in the afternoon?

Our sincere thanks to Carlee, Brittany, our student audience, and all of the teachers who helped make it happen! And of course to PNC Arts Alive, whose generous sponsorhip made the program possible.
