Doylestown Museums Free Day: Saturday, July 16

The Michener Art Museum will be open for FREE on Saturday, July 16! In celebration of the Mercer Museum’s 100th birthday, the Michener, Mercer, the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works, and Fonthill Castle will be free to the public.

Also happening on July 16 is the opening of the Unguarded, Untold, Iconic: Afghanistan through the Lens of Steve McCurry. The exhibition presents highlights from McCurry’s 35 years of photography in Afghanistan and includes a selection of work from the Women’s Photography Initiative, a project of ImagineAsia, the nonprofit McCurry helped to establish, as well as traditional and modern textiles made in Afghanistan. Visitors will be able to view both new and familiar photographs and experience Afghanistan through McCurry’s thought-provoking and visually arresting lens.
