Michener visitors have called the Education Gallery “inspiring, enriching, and visionary.” The Gallery provides a place where student artists of all ages share their talents, observations, imaginations, and worldviews with the greater community. Formal exhibitions throughout the year balance with informal “push pin” displays of student work and interactive spaces to celebrate a promising future for the arts in Bucks County and beyond.

The Education Gallery at the Michener Art Museum informs and inspires youth and family audiences. Ongoing collaborations with organizations in Bucks County provide a venue for the creativity of children, teens, and adults in our community. Diverse exhibition programming fosters self-esteem among varied student artists and Museum audiences. Exhibitions feature artwork and interactive spaces that enrich the knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of creativity and the diversity of regional and world cultural heritage.

The Education Gallery at the Michener Art Museum opened in June of 2000 with the inaugural exhibition, Visual Delight. Since then, we have hosted hundreds of exhibitions of local student artwork, artwork created in Museum programs, and images from community outreach collaborations with Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya. From the international exchange of The Hexagon Project: Global Interdependence interactive exhibition, through the explosion of color in our elementary and middle school Art in Bloom display, to the service initiative of the Gift of Giving program, the Education Gallery at the Michener Art Museum remains a center for creativity, self-expression, artistic talent, and joy in our community.

The Education Gallery at the Michener keeps art at the heart of education.
